It’s warming up! Remember if you work in a hot factory or a job that has you working outside these can lead to a insensible loss of body water over a few days putting you on the verge of dehydration just waiting for you to gear up on your next incident! So stay hydrated, drink that water! follow the link for a example of an old incident rehab protocol you can update with your medical director! As I once heard be aggressive safe and smart.

Earlier today unfortunately we responded to this motor vehicle crash. Luckily no serious injuries.

Then our crews went back and trained for several hours. This is how we make sure that we can take care of our community.

Earlier today we were dispatched to a special call. A dog needing to be rescued. Our staff responded and were able to rescue the mans best friend 😀.

Update: the dog was stuck about 4 hours. Upon removal our crews checked the dog and they didn’t see any visible signs of injury. Dog appeared to be cold and covered with mud. The dog was reunited with family.

Also I like to give credit to our staff who were involved in this rescue:

David L. Schickel Jr.

We were contacted by Rock Creek Community Academy last week about having their students coming to their local fire department for a visit. They wanted to come and thank us for our service. It was a pleasure having them at our firehouse. Thank you all for the visit and spending time with our staff. We really enjoyed having you here.

Severe weather is expected this afternoon in our area. High winds and possible more rain. We ask our friends, neighbors and guests in our community to be cautious. Stay away from down power lines, Do not drive through flooded roads, if driving increase your distance to vehicles in front of you, slow down and don’t drive distracted and finally wear your seatbelts. Be safe,

Severe storms are expected to roll through Indiana this evening. Major threats include damaging winds, hail and the possibility of tornadoes.

Prepare today by identifying where to go if severe weather hits and making sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts!

With the threat of damaging straight line winds, widespread power outages also are possible.

Charge all your electronic devices before storms arrive. Make sure you have enough non-refrigerated/frozen food for the next 36-48 hours in case your power goes out.
