With a population of less than 10,000, Sellersburg is receiving a 75%/25% match where CCMG pays 75%.

The projects are estimated to start in April or May once a public bidding process is complete and projects awarded. Town Manger Charlie Smith says he hopes to have all CCGM paving projects completed by early summer.

Today, crews started on the next phase of finishing the wooded area of Mosley Park. They will be removing select dead and diseased trees then regrading to improve drainage of the area. Once they are finished, they will seed and straw the area. The goal is to have a wooded park like setting and ultimately a great walking trail.

Sellersburg Halloween Statement:

We know COVID-19 as a new normal has been tough, especially on the kids. After dealing with this as a community for 7+ months, everyone should understand the importance of wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, etc. As we make the following statement, we also ask you take personal accountability for the choices made that could have impact on others within the community.

The Town of Sellersburg will be having Trick or Treating on October 31, 2020 from 6-9pm, rain or shine.

If you are comfortable or not to allow your children to go door-2-door, that is your choice as a parent or guardian. Just as if you are comfortable or not to hand out candy this year, the choice is yours. We ask that you consider pre-planning with people you know to schedule a route for your children instead of the traditional door-2-door method.

For your education, the CDC has categorized low, moderate, and high risk Halloween activities. Before you make the decision for your family, please take a moment to review the information in the following link:

Updating on the latest project to be completed at the Sellersburg pool this summer! A much needed update to our system that reads and regulates chemicals, water temperature, and sends alerts and notifications to an app and can be checked from anywhere. New probes, a change from a sand filter to crystals, and new pumps! Even though this isn’t an update most will “see” it will improve the operations of the pool and will give you a safe place to enjoy when we reopen next summer!

Sellersburg Celebrates

It is with a heavy heart that the Sellersburg Celebrates past presidents have decided to cancel the 2020 Sellersburg Celebrates festival this year due to an abundance of caution in regards to COVID19. We are deeply saddened that for the first time in over 30 years we will not be joining friends, family, and neighbors in 2020 for the festival. However, we hope to come back bigger and better in 2021! Thank you to everyone who has supported us, and we hope to see you next year!

Waiting to see information posted on purchasing a family pool pass.

Like · Reply · 2h Linda Longest Whitlatch The swim team always works with theparks and managers each and every year. The parents put in a lot of time trying to keep the pool looking nice. The restrooms were dirty and no lighting at the swim meets. I did not want my grandson to be in there because of the dirt and very poor lighting. Even though the swimmers get a break on pricing of passes the other family members usually pay to go with them. The concessions at a swim meet have to make money because the lines are long for three hours . Everyone should be so proud that the swim team has been around for so long and continue to grow and teach so many children to thrive in a sport that they may not be able to do in other sports. The team is a family made up of so many wonderful people and keep coming back for years I am a proud SEACAT of 42 years. This team helped my children to develop into strong leaders. We are proud of this team and will do anything to help out and have already. Regarding the matter of the young men mentioned in this statement I feel that is so wrong to call out anyone in public by name. This should be dealt with in private. As a parent of a swimmer and patron of the town of sellersburg pool, I want to voice my concern of the absolute horrid conditions at the pool this summer. First off it was not ready for a standard Memorial Day opening, the chemicals are always out of whack (2nd time we have had to cancel practice due to this), the facilities are constantly dirty, the management doesn’t seem to care or be competent to handle their job, the swim team has yet to receive their pool passes and over $3000 has been paid to the town for this, and the grounds are constantly in poor condition. Never have I seen this pool in such a sad shape. Please encourage the town board to seek new management and get this great facility back to its former glory. #TOWNOFSELLERSBURG #WEWANTAMYBACK
To: Sellersburg Parks Board, Sellersburg Pool Management, Town of Sellersburg I am a New Albany Resident. I would have purchased my pool passes at RiverRun pool in New Albany, if it wasn’t for West Clark Swim team. My kids have been on the swim team since 2013. They will continue to swim for West Clark. WE LOVE the team. I will not continue to buy my family passes at this pool after this season, if drastic changes of how this pool is being run are not made. I am very disappointed with the Sellersburg Pool for a number of reasons this season. I feel like the team’s Coaches and Board members take better care of the pool than the people who are being paid to are. I do not feel that the team should pay for pool passes AND manage the pool. We should get that money back. Opening 2 weeks late shortened our already short swim season. Closings due to failure of keeping the pools chemicals balanced kept the kids out of the water even more. This summer is the first time I have ever known the pool to close due to improper care and maintenance. Bathrooms are not being cleaned and smell There isn’t proper lighting. either bulbs are not being changed or lights not turned on. This has also never been a problem in the past. The prices in pool passes keep increasing with less extra events to attend and Less care is given. (2 pool movies this summer vs last years 4 or 5.) My kids have yet to receive their passes for the team. I WANT to support the pool where my kids’ team swims, that’s why I get myself and husband a pass as well. This will be the last year I buy extra passes if there isn’t change. I, also, want a Pool that supports West clark’s swim team. Angela Stucker
