On March 8, 2024, Tohono O'odham Kekel Ha-Maṣcamakuḍ celebrated the 25th anniversary of its founding. The event featured former and current Trustees and College Presidents who shared stories of our college’s history and answered questions about its past, present, and future.

The keynote speaker for the day was former Tohono O’odham Nation Chairman and current Tohono O’odham Legislative Council Representative Edward D. Manuel. When Mr. Manuel was Chairman of the Nation in the 1990s, he and Vice Chairman Henry Ramon worked on establishing the college, a concept that had been talked about for many years. In the keynote address, Mr. Manuel described bringing people together to do the planning and advance work that led to the Tohono O’odham Legislative Council chartering Tohono O’odham Community College in 1998.

The event was held at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson and was live-streamed on our YouTube channel.
