We had such a great turn out for our Covid safe Drive Through Trunk Or Treat event! We estimate over 200 cars full of kiddos came out to join us for some trick or treating fun!
We want to give a huge thank you to our friends at Ben E. Keith Foods especially Richard Garza for hosting our event and for helping to make everything run smooth.
We had community sponsors with Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, Kent Powersports, Schertz Cibolo Emergency Clinic, Selma Poa, Selma Fire Department, Selma Citizen’s Public Safety Academy Alumni, as well as private Selma residents who volunteered to make this the best trunk or treat ever!!!
A special thank you to our amazing City of Selma, Texas Mayor Tom Daley and City Council Members Noah Washington and Becky Riedel Harris who helped pass out candy to the kiddos and for their continued support of our community events.
With such amazing people in this city I am so proud to call Selma my home!

We have continued to receive reports of telephone scams targeting our citizens. If someone calls claiming to be from a company that has had their customer’s information compromised they should not be putting you in touch with a detective. The should not be asking you to give them personal information and they should not be asking you to disclose email addresses or account information. Do not fall for their scams. If it is a legit compromise of customer information it is the victim’s responsibility to file a report with the local Police Department not the company.
If you have any questions or feel that you have been swindled by one of these scams, contact the Selma Police Department to file a report.
Tomorrow night is the 2nd Annual City of Selma Trunk Or Treat!! Get the kiddos dressed up in their costumes and drive through for some safe Halloween Fun! We will begin our drive through at 6:30PM. The attached map shows the route we will be using to minimize traffic disruption. Please plan on entering onto Ben E. Keith Way by travelling southwest on Lookout Rd.

Just north of us. If you’re traveling that way be aware!
TRAFFIC ALERT: An 18-wheeler rollover accident on I-35 in the area of Hwy 46 South has most of I-35 closed in that area. One person was transported with non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital.
The cab of the 18-wheeler caught fire, but the fire is now out.
The trailer of the 18-wheeler fell across the center barrier, causing the trailer to split in half, spilling a large number of small glass bottles across the highway. The accident also knocked over a large light pole.
Currently, Northbound I-35 is completely closed with traffic being diverted off the highway at the Guadalupe River turnaround. Southbound traffic currently has one lane open. Expect significant delays for the next several hours on I-35 in New Braunfels.

Calling all Selma Residents!!! The Selma Police Department Community Oriented Policing Services (C.O.P.S.) unit is organizing a unique opportunity.
