🚨 ZERO TOLERANCE FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING 🚨

The Selma Police Department, alongside Smithfield PD, Wilson’s Mills PD, and the NC DHHS BAT Mobile, conducted a multi-agency checkpoint & saturation patrol as part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program (GHSP) initiative targeting dangerous drivers.

🌧️ Rain didn’t slow us down—and it won’t.

Results:

✔️ DWI: 3 (2 alcohol-related; 1 drug-related)
✔️ DWLR: 10
✔️ NOL: 6
✔️ Open container: 4
✔️ Fail to maintain lane control: 1
✔️ Left of center: 1
✔️ Fictitious tag: 1
✔️ Expired registration/inspection: 3
✔️ Equipment violation: 2
✔️ Drug charges: 4
✔️ Speed: 1
✔️ Stop sign violation: 1
✔️ Contributing to delinquency of juvenile: 2

✔️ Total all charged: 38

This is about saving lives. If you choose to drive impaired, expect to be stopped, arrested, and held accountable.

Interim Chief Justin Vause:
"Even with weather working against us at times, our officers stayed out there focused on protecting this community. Supported by GHSP, this is proactive enforcement at its best—impaired driving is preventable, and we will continue taking action to keep our roads safe."

We’re not slowing down. More enforcement is coming.
