Good morning. It is a great day to be an American. A free American. We are blessed to live in the greatest country that God has ever breathed life into.

As some of you may know, I have applied to serve the remainder of the term for commissioner of the 6th district. Presently there are 3 other applicants.

If selected, I look forward to serving the citizens of Johnston County.

Still supporting the Johnston County Fire Departments AFTER the primary. These folks and their families work so hard for their communities.

Glad that part of my family could join me today.

Thank you to each of you who supported me during my campaign for Johnston County Commissioner.

I did not win the election. Obedience is better than sacrifice.

First, I thank God for the opportunity. I have met so many wonderful people. More importantly, I have met people that I call friend.

To my wife, thank you for going through this with me. To my mom, you were a trooper. You worked tirelessly. To my family, thank you for your prayers and support.

If it were God's will for me to win today, it would have happened. I'd rather be in His will and not win, than to win and be out of His will.

I am blessed!

Today is Primary Eve.

Tomorrow in Johnston County and all across North Carolina, citizens have the freedom to exercise their right to vote. Freedom is a precious gift from God almighty and the veterans who fought and died for that freedom.

Supporting our veterans will be a top priority as your county commissioner.

Agriculture is VITALLY important to Johnston County.

I began working on my grandfather's to***co farm at age 7, where I worked until going off to college. The farm teaches you much about life and you learn how to do things on your own. Through the years, I kept in touch with the farm life through my dad's cattle farm.

My dad died July 2015. Now, I now have cows to look after. Those "farm skills" I learned during my childhood, were valuable to me now that I have to use a backhoe and tractor to tend to the cows.

As your county commissioner, agriculture will remain a top priority.

I have enjoyed traveling this great county listening to the citizens. From Archer Lodge to Meadow, from Micro, Antioch, and Bethany to West Johnston, McGee's Crossroads, and Benson.

They may live in different parts of the county but they all have many things in common. They work hard and expect their leaders to do the same. They live frugally and expect their leaders to do the same.

Elected officials are elected to SERVE not to be served.

Why am I running for Johnston County Commissioner?

It's time for "Fresh, New leadership" for Johnston County.

For the past 30+ years, I have served and worked with citizens across this state. I have listened to them and resolved their problems.

That's where I learned to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason: to listen twice as much as we talk.

I look forward to serving the citizens of Johnston County as your county commissioner.

On this Lord's Day, I reflect over the last two months. The journey of running for office to serve the great people of this country has been a very rewarding experience.

I thank God for the opportunity to run and to meet so many people of this county.

I am blessed!!
