We went on a little adventure with Corduroy at Chick-fil-A Smithfield Selma! 🧸

At our final Little Nuggets and Me, families enjoyed reading Don Freeman's Corduroy before going on a hunt for objects inspired by the story! Our little readers also practiced counting with buttons before getting creative and making their own puppets.

Learn lifesaving skills that can keep the children in your care safe!

During this Saturday in-person training on CPR and First Aid, you will learn the skills and knowledge you need to respond to an emergency. This training covers infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid to meet child care licensing requirements.

As we mourn the loss of Dolly, we are deeply honored to be a part of her legacy.

Due to a tremendous increase of registrations, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library website is down. It will take a few extra days for registrations to be processed. Thank you for your understanding.

The Smart Start Network is deeply saddened by the passing of Dolly Parton. Her belief that every child deserves access to books and the opportunity to develop a love of reading transformed the lives of countless children and families.

Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, the Smart Start Network is honored to help bring free books and the joy of reading to children across North Carolina—helping families build connections, spark curiosity, and nurture a lifelong love of learning.

We will continue carrying forward her vision and remain committed to helping children build strong foundations for lifelong success. Her legacy will live on every time a child opens a book and discovers the joy of reading.
