The Storm Shelter at Selmer Elementary School will be opened tonight at 6:00 p.m. and will remain open until the threat of severe weather has passed.

Please see Mr. Martin's update on the return to school. No school for students the rest of the week. Principals, Supervisors and Central Office will report tomorrow February 5th. All certified staff will return Friday February 6th. Next week will be a full week for all faculty and staff.

Beginning tonight at 6:00 p.m., McNairy County Schools, in coordination with the McNairy County Sheriff’s Office and School Resource Officers (SROs), will open a warming station for residents at Selmer Elementary School’s Storm Shelter.

The warming station will remain open until further notice.

Due to the forecast of a winter storm warning and extreme cold temperatures at the beginning of next week, ALL SCHOOLS in McNairy County will be CLOSED on January, Monday 26, 2026 and January, Tuesday 27, 2026.

We will reassess the situation on Tuesday and make a decision regarding our return to school.
