The Selmer Fire Department has decided to extend the NO BURN Permitted for an additional week, thank you.

The Selmer Fire Department will continue to have burn permits on HOLD until next weekend. We will evaluate then whether to extend the restriction or begin issuing permits again. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The State of Tennessee TDEC has asked us to post you cannot burn housing or construction type of materials. TDEC can fine up to 25,000 dollars per incident.

CALL 811 BEFORE YOU DIG TO AVOID STRIKING UTILITIES!!

Home owners can bury the C&D material from their home on their own property so long as the fill area is less than one acre in areal extent when completed. This is a permit exemption so they do not have to inform us so long as they meet this requirement.
