Along the banks of the quiet Leaf River in Covington County, there once stood a simple ferry run by the Reddoch family. Before bridges crossed these waters, folks relied on that flatboat to carry wagons, horses, and news from one side to the other.

During the last hard days of the Civil War, the crossing became more than just a way over the river. Not far from there, men connected to Newton Knight and his band moved quietly through the woods, resisting Confederate forces in what later became known as the Free State of Jones. One tense encounter near the ferry sent cavalry scattering when shots rang out from the trees, proving that even a small group who knew the land could change the course of a moment.

Today, the ferry is gone. No ropes stretch across the water. But if you stand along that stretch of river and listen to the wind in the cypress, you can almost hear the creak of wood and the steady pull that once carried Mississippi across.

Alright yall!! Here is the FINAL decision‼️
Starting soon the north side of our building (Drive thru window or curb side only) will be serving smoothies, dirty sodas, açaí bowls, cheese cake fruit bowls, salads with or without a choice of a meat option, and fruit cups! The menu and hours of operation will be posted soon, and we are looking forward to all the delicious treats and meals we will be serving you! We will be offering delivery to a few locations locally that will be included on our menu!

So many families have been affected by the tornadoes yesterday, so we are making plates for anyone that needs something to eat or drink. Please come by they are FREE for anyone without power or has suffered from the devastation of the tornadoes. Please share this post so we can help as many as we can today. This community has helped us in so many ways this is the least we can do for the ones that have supported us.
