🆘Why Everbridge Matters‼️

Our thoughts and prayers are with the first responders, victims, their families, and everyone impacted by the ongoing incident in Midland.

Midland, Texas is currently dealing with an active shooter situation. Events like this serve as an important reminder that social media should not be your only source of emergency information. Social media platforms can experience outages, delays, or other issues that may prevent critical information from reaching the public when it is needed most.

That is why Gaines County utilizes Everbridge for emergency notifications. Everbridge allows us to send important alerts directly to your phone, email, or other devices, helping ensure you receive timely information during emergencies, severe weather events, road closures, public safety incidents, and other critical situations.

One of the best features of Everbridge is that you can customize your notification preferences to receive only the alerts that are important to you. If you need assistance setting up your account or adjusting your notification settings, we are always happy to help.

We strongly encourage all Gaines County residents to sign up for Everbridge and stay informed when it matters most. Out of the many Gaines County residents, we only have about 4,000 registered.

Earlier today on US Hwy 62/180 West near CR 323, Gaines County Deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash.

We would like to recognize Yarely Avila, a Seminole High School senior who plans to enter the medical field after graduation, for immediately stepping in to assist the injured driver until first responders arrived.

We also want to recognize Betty Ganaway, RN with Nor-Lea, for using her years of medical experience to assist the driver and support Yarely on scene.

Your willingness to step up and help others in a time of need is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed! 👏🩵
