During this last campaign I met a couple who had voted in the primary. They communicated with me that they intended to vote for me in the runoff but there was one issue. The husband needed a life saving surgery but unfortunately had some additional medical issues that he would need to heal from before being cleared for the surgery. He did not feel well but his wife assured me that they would try their best to exercise their right to vote.
This couple inspired me because even during the most difficult times in their life with his medical issue, they felt the need to still go and vote. They understood the importance of exercising that right.
I want to sincerely thank my supporters who exercised their right to vote and have been with us during this campaign season! Your thoughts, prayers and support haven’t gone unnoticed and for that my family and I are grateful!
I’ve been asked by many since Tuesday if I plan to re-enter public service at some point. I’ll pray over that with family. Who knows though, if it’s Gods will then you may see my name on a ballot again in the future.
Tate County is our home. I wish only the best for our County and the people. I pray that it continues to thrive.

OUR TATE COUNTY E-911 DISPATCHERS ARE THE FIRST LINE OF COMMUNICATION DURING AN EMERGENCY. WE HAVE A DEDICATED AND PROFESSIONAL TEAM OF EMPLOYEES!

Look at our cute visitor, Chance 🐶

Did you know we have answered about 13,000 911 calls so far this year? These calls can be emotionally and mentally exhausting after a 12-hour shift. We answer the call to be the calming voice on somebody’s worst day.

Therapy dogs are a growing trend in 911 emergency dispatch centers. These trained canines are brought into the communication centers after difficult calls to help dispatchers cope with ‘unimaginable’ stress. An example where therapy dogs were brought in was in the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida shooting in 2018.

Some communication centers have therapy dogs come to their centers on a regular basis. Many dispatchers say that it is nice to focus on something else for a minute. These therapy dogs bring a little joy to the stressful job.

Drop a picture in the comments of your sweet emotional support animal. Don’t have one? Maybe Senatobia-Tate County Animal Shelter has a fur baby for you to adopt or maybe you might consider fostering.

Now you know a little more about dispatch 😊

I’M THANKFUL FOR OUR E-911 EMPLOYEES!

SIX screens ain't no joke! Look intimidating? That is the first thing everyone thinks about when they step into an emergency communications center. Let me break it down for you so you can see it is not that bad 😁

1. Pafford- This monitor is used to let the first responders know an ETA for the ambulance.

2. RapidSOS and NCIC- RapidSOS is a free service that we use to better locate people that either our CAD doesn't populate correctly, or the caller is not from this area, etc. On another tab is our NCIC. This is what we use to run driver's license and tags. We also use this program to add anything you report stolen, missing people or people wanted for serious crimes.

3. 911 Phone- Yup, that is what the 911 phone looks like.

4. CAD- Go back and read our post about CAD. This is where we enter calls, dispatch calls, and enter all the information associated with a call.

5. 911 Map- This map is tied in with our 911 phones. Once we answer a 911 call, the map will populate the location.

6. Radio- This is how we communicate with the first responders out in the field. Our dispatchers monitor SIX channels 😳 The cool thing is that it is a touch screen.

We also have an admin line phone for non-emergency calls, like unlocks, reports for after the fact, etc.

And know you know a little more about dispatch 😊
