Help Us Rehab Seneca Rescue Squad’s Home

Since 1968, the Seneca Rescue Squad has stood ready—24 hours a day, 7 days a week—to answer the call when our community needs help most. Seneca Rescue answered over 2300 calls for service in the 2025 and our on track to answer the same amount of not more this year. We are proud to serve the people of Seneca and the surrounding areas with Emergency Medical Response, Firefighter Rehab, and Lake and Water Rescue with dedication, compassion, and professionalism.
But today, we are facing a challenge of our own.

Our building—the very place where our crews train, meet, store life-saving equipment, and coordinate emergency responses—is in urgent need of major rehabilitation. Years of wear and tear have taken a serious toll. We are dealing with structural issues, aging infrastructure, and outdated facilities, and we need the communities help. Because we operate under Oconee County’s FDID, we are not able to get grants to assist with the need. Additionally, our county funding assistance is always on the fringe of barely meeting the need of simply responding to those with an acute medical need.

Simply put: we need your help to fund some critical repairs at our building.

We are launching this fundraiser to restore and rehabilitate our facility so we can continue providing the high-quality emergency medical services our neighbors depend on. Funds raised will go toward essential improvements, including:
• Structural repairs to ensure the building is safe and secure
• Updated electrical and plumbing systems
• Repairs to vehicle bays and equipment storage areas
• Improvements to crew rest and training spaces
• General maintenance needed to bring the building up to operational standards The Seneca Rescue Squad is more than just a service—it’s your neighbors, your friends, your family members. We are committed to being there in your time of need, but we can’t do it without a safe and functional home base.

At around 9:30 this morning Seneca Rescue 1 responded to assist Seneca City Fire with a structure fire in the Marina Bay Community. Great team work by all station’s involved despite the very poor weather conditions.

From January 1st, 2025, to December 31st, 2025, Seneca Rescue members answered over 2300 calls for service. This has been by far our busiest year ever recorded. We are very grateful to our amazing volunteers, who take time out of their everyday lives to answer these calls.

Our first annual car show fundraiser was a great success with 30 cars present. We appreciate Marantha Baptist Church for the use of their facilities, Jeff Bright and Donnin (Big-Un) White of Sunny 107.9 radio for their entertainment and advertisement, and Napa of Seneca for their generous donations. We thank everyone who came out to support our organization and give back to their community. It’s because of events like this that we can continue to operate and purchase equipment to help the members of our community. Pictured below are the winners of the car show. First place: 1973 Dodge Challenger. Second place: 1977 Pontiac Trans-Am (Bandit special). We look forward to next year as we plan to make this our annual fundraiser.

Lots of great items in our yard sale inventory come on out and join us this Saturday for our yard sale and car show fundraiser. The yard sale starts at 7 am, accompanied by a pancake breakfast. The car show will follow, featuring a hot dog sale.
