Wastewater treatment is an unglamorous backbone of urban living and protecting the environment.

The services the OJRSA provides are vital to the health of our community.

The major aim of wastewater treatment is to remove as much of the suspended solids as possible before the remaining water, called effluent, is discharged back to the environment. As solid material decays, it uses up oxygen, which is needed by the plants and animals living in the water.

The Operations & Planning Committee Meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

The Finance & Administration Committee Meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The next regularly scheduled Commission Meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026.
