We continue our partnership with the Nemaha County Food Pantry in June as we focus on Pastas and Sauces. Drop off your donations of dry pasta and sauce in a can or jar, or any other non-expired and unopened food items here at the library during our regular business hours: M-Th 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Fri 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Sat 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Don’t want to hassle with going to the store or guessing which brand or size to get? We collect cash donations to deliver to the Food Pantry also!

Monday, June 1, is Dinosaur Day! It's not clear why or who decided this, but does there really need to be a reason to celebrate dinosaurs? Kids and adults who aren't grinchy monsters love animals, and dinosaurs are ancient animals that stir the imagination and trigger the parts of the mind that love a good mystery or story. Also, we're excited that dinosaurs are a big part of our summer reading theme this year!

What's your favorite dinosaur?

Sunday, May 31, is World Parrot Day. Beautiful, quirky, and oft times opinionated, these birds are widely endangered in the wilds due to encroachment on their natural habitats. Polly doesn't want a cracker, but she does want sustainable practices in industries that strip resources and forests from tropical and subtropical regions.

Thursday, May 28, Cody Wells, the Lego Guy, shared his favorite hobby and personal passion with Seneca Free Library in the main conference room. Eighteen tubs of Legos, eight conference tables of participants spanning all ages, and one Master Builder with an arsenal of fast humor and creative challenges made for a fun and exciting experience for all during our Open Build Lego Event. From technical tower trials to make-a-mask mayhem, Cody Wells guided the evening activities like a well-oiled and very fun machine. We hope all of our guests enjoyed the event as much as we did! Keep building and expanding that imagination as we plot the return of our newest friend to the library in the future!

Cody Wells, the Lego Guy, runs a specialty store dealing in everything Lego in Ossipee, NH. But each year he takes to the road and share's his Lego collection and his love of Legos with people all across the country to inspire, challenge, and build memories together.

For more information about Cody Wells and the fun and unique things he does at home and across the nation, checkout c3brix.com.
