Shared post from the Village of Seneca
The Village would like to inform residents that Public Works personnel will be conducting storm debris cleanup throughout the community today, 06/11 and tomorrow 06/12. Residents who have storm-related debris are asked to place it curbside for crews to collect and remove it as efficiently as possible.
Due to the power outages, the Village Hall will be open as a cooling center today and tomorrow during normal office hours, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. If residents need relief from the heat you are welcome to utilize the Council Chambers. If after hours relief is needed, please contact the Police Non-Emergency number at (815) 357-8726. To receive power outage updates, please text "OUT" TO 26633 and enroll in text updates from ComEd.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our Public Works staff, Commissioners, Emergency Services Personnel, and Public Utility workers for their tireless efforts in responding to the recent storm. Their dedication, long hours, and commitment to serving our community are instrumental in restoring normal conditions as quickly and safely as possible.
Weather conditions can change rapidly, and relying on a variety of sources can help ensure you receive timely warnings and updates. Residents are encouraged to follow local television and radio stations, National Weather Service alerts, weather apps, emergency notification systems, and official social media accounts from local emergency management agencies.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as cleanup efforts continue. Be safe everyone.
