📢 Free Radon Test Kits Coming Soon — While Supplies Last!

For Cranberry Township & Northern Pennsylvania Residents

Cranberry Township Emergency Management (EMC) has reached out to Kevin Stewart of the American Lung Association to partner in bringing free radon test kits to our community as part of a regional radon-awareness initiative.

Thanks to support from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Radiation Protection, the American Lung Association is providing free radon test kits to municipalities across 17 northern Pennsylvania counties.

🏠 Why Test for Radon?
Radon is a naturally occurring, odorless gas commonly found in Pennsylvania homes. Our state has some of the highest radon levels in the nation, and elevated radon is linked to thousands of lung cancer deaths each year.
Testing is the only way to know if your home is at risk.

🎁 What’s Included in the Free Test Kit:

✔ Prepaid return shipping
✔ Certified lab analysis
✔ Results delivered directly to you
—all at no cost.

📍 How Distribution Will Work:
Cranberry Township will distribute test kits on a first-come, first-served basis once they arrive from the American Lung Association.
At this time, we do not know how many kits we will receive, but we will announce availability and pickup details as soon as they are confirmed.

⏳ Supplies Are Limited
Kits are expected to be in high demand across northern Pennsylvania. Residents are encouraged to pick up a kit promptly once availability is announced.

Cranberry Township – Water and Sewer Worker
Cranberry Township is accepting applications for the position of Water and Sewer Worker. This full-time role involves a variety of duties to support the operation and maintenance of the Township’s water and sewer systems, including water generation plants, sewer lift stations, line repairs and taps, heavy equipment operation, meter reading, and general maintenance work.
Key responsibilities include:
• Repairing ruptured water and sewer lines
• Operating Township vehicles and heavy equipment
• Performing water and sewer taps and inspections
• Reading and maintaining water meters
• Snow plowing and traffic control
• Routine maintenance of Township vehicles and equipment
• Working safely and professionally with the public and other staff
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one (1) year of similar work experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to operate tools and equipment, follow directions, and work cooperatively
• Must be reliable, safety-minded, and willing to work occasional nights/weekends as needed
Additional requirements:
• Participation in random drug testing program (PSATS CDL)
• Must obtain CPR/first aid certification and Pennsylvania DEP licensing as directed (Township will provide training)
This position reports to the Utility Supervisor and offers the opportunity to serve the public as part of a dedicated municipal team.

Cranberry Township is seeking a qualified Utilities worker for full time employment. The ideal candidate will have experience in operation and maintenance of water and sewer systems, water generation plants, sewer lift stations, repairing lines, operating heavy equipment, water meter reading and installation, manual labor and other duties assigned by the supervisor, must have a current PA driver license, a clean driving record and be able to pass a drug screening.
