The Sentinel Chamber of Commerce treated Sentinel Public Schools staff to a delicious hamburger feast with all the fixings and desserts on May 20. A heartfelt thank you to the Chamber of Commerce members who generously provided and served the meal: Barbara Cooper, Scott & Jamie Everett, Billy & M'lynn Hanes, Joe & Jodia Housley, Diane "Cookie" Landers, Quay Mecham, Larry & Mary Peck of the Sentinel Leader, and Jeff & Yvetta Real.

Their kindness and generosity make a difference and are a wonderful reminder of the strong partnership between Sentinel Public Schools and the community.

Keeping up with reading through the summer is essential to prevent the "summer slide". Studies show that regular reading not only maintains literacy skills but can actually increase a child's proficiency before the new school year begins. Make it a seamless and fun part of your summer routine:
Daily Goals: Dedicate just 20 to 30 minutes a day. Use trackers or pair it with daily activities (like reading on the porch or before bed).
Alternative Formats: Graphic novels, comics, audiobooks, and even subtitled media are great ways to keep older or reluctant readers engaged without the pressure of traditional books.
Use Local Resources: Check out your local public library for summer reading challenges, free e-books, and family events.

Mrs. Peffer, Mrs. Kamphaus, and Mrs. Colberg joined education leaders from across Oklahoma at the CCOSA Summer Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City this week.

John Maxwell was among the featured speakers. Throughout the conference, our administrative team participated in sessions designed to strengthen leadership skills, explore innovative educational practices, and gain valuable insight into current issues impacting public education. The experience provided opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from across the state and bring back new ideas that will benefit our students, staff, and families.
