We have spent the last week laying down our first cutting of grass for 2021. Maybe I'm alone on this, but how are we almost halfway through the year?
To help with nutrition and proper growth We irrigate our ground from April 15th to September 15th (ish). Irrigation âhelps to grow agricultural crops, maintain landscapes, and revegetate disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of less than average rainfall.â
If you donât know Sequim is located in a dry cap, with an average rainfall of 14 inches per year. For comparison Seattle receives an average rainfall of 38 inches annually. Think of how many people water their lawn or garden every day of the summer, If you donât add water it wonât grow right? Water is essential for farmers to produce many of the items that feed your family. Aside from our locker beef program, we also grow: corn, grass hay, seed crops such as brussel sprouts, cauliflower, spinach, barley and triticale. Both climate and resources make growing all of our crops possible.
