Do you love walking AND supporting environmental education?

Introducing a new peer-to-peer campaign to help you spend more time outdoors this summer while supporting the Dungeness River Nature Center!

The challenge is simple: walk one mile every day during the month of June, wherever you choose.

Join or sponsor the “River Center Ramblers” this June to celebrate the joy of being outdoors while raising funds for environmental education at the Dungeness River Nature Center.

Ways to Support the River Center Ramblers
-Join the River Center Ramblers and walk in June while rallying support from friends and family. Interested participants should contact Lyn Muench at [email protected] or text 360-477-1972.
-Sponsor the River Center Ramblers with a donation supporting environmental education. Online gifts can be made directly here: dungenessrivercenter.app.neoncrm.com/RiverCenterRamblers2026, or by check or cash with “River Center Ramblers (RCR)” noted with the donation.
-Spread the word by sharing this campaign with friends and family.

Reap the joy and wellness benefits of spending time outdoors as a rambler this summer!

What is a peer-to-peer campaign?
It’s when community members and supporters come together in creative ways to raise funds for a cause they care about.

We had a blast at the Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts today! 🎨🐾🎶

Thanks to everyone who swung by the booth. We tried out two new activities: animal track painting and pressing tracks into sand. 🐾🐾🐾

What do you all think? Should we try this again at another event?

We got a mystery on our feathers! We loved hearing everyone's voicemails from our nest pop-up table here at the center. The birds need some help responding to all of your messages, so take a listen and tell us who you think our mystery bird could be. Audio discretion to headphone users ❓🐦‍⬛❓

The Center is leading just two more walks before June, where we'll move into the Upper Dungeness and visit Deer Park. There is still space available May 13 & 15 if you'd like to join our educators on a forested flower excursion! 🌸

We are in the final stretch of GiveBIG!

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from those who believe in the River Center, our mission of education and stewardship, and the transformative power of nature.

In this video, former River Center Operations Manager Vanessa Fuller shares her story of change, leadership, and transition after 14 years with the Dungeness River Nature Center. Her story is part of our 2026 GiveBIG campaign, Change is in Our Nature.

There is still time to be part of this story. Make your gift today:

GiveBIG ends soon, and every donation helps sustain the programs that inspire discovery, connection to nature, and lifelong learning for people of all ages.
