Sequim, Washington is located in Clallam County on the majestic Olympic Peninsula. Bordered by the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north and the Olympic Mountains to the south, the city falls into a rainshadow and receives approximately 16 inches of rain each year, making it one of the driest places in Western Washington. With a population of 6,600 (per the 2010 consensus) Sequim is a small, active

community and a popular retirement community. Rich in agricultural heritage, for the past two decades Sequim has become internationally known for the commercial cultivation of lavender, making it the "Lavender Capital of North America." Sequim is also known for the berries and organic produce grown in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley and the local seafood and crab. Just two hours from Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia, Sequim and the surrounding Sequim-Dungness Valley are popular tourist destinations. The city is centrally located on the north Olympic Peninsula and is a great place to stay while enjoying everything the area offers.
