The City of Sequim will host its annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, at the Civic Center Plaza, 152 West Cedar Street.
The ceremony will honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and recognize the courage, service, and sacrifice of first responders.
Community members are invited to join this remembrance in person at the Civic Center Plaza or view the livestream on the City website, sequimwa.gov.
The ceremony will feature a first responder processional, symbolic bell ringing, a moment of silence, an Honor Guard wreath laying, remarks from Sequim Police Department Chief Mike Hill and Clallam County Fire District 3 Chief Justin Grider, a bagpipe tribute, and an opportunity for attendees to place a rose at the flagpole in remembrance of fallen responders.
The annual ceremony offers the Sequim community an opportunity to pause, reflect, and remember the lives forever changed by the events of September 11, while honoring the first responders who answered the call to serve.
