Mrs. Vander Schaaf's fifth grade ELP reading/writing class took part in an ELP version of "Shark Tank" last Thursday. Each group was tasked with coming up with an invention to solve a problem. They then had to create a presentation describing their company's invention, along with a logo, slogan, and advertisement. They presented their sales pitch to four community member sharks that could invest in their companies. Maybe someday you'll see these great inventions on the shelves!

Tuesday afternoon, May 19, will be used to celebrate student success on the ISASP assessments. Before testing, students set goals for themselves, and we are excited to share that over 80% of our building met at least one goal they set. We are proud of the effort and growth our students showed and look forward to celebrating their success together.
As part of the celebration, students are invited to wear pajamas to school and enjoy a movie with their class Tuesday afternoon.
Students may also bring one snack and a drink for the afternoon. Please make sure drinks have a screw-top lid to help prevent spills.

The PTO yearbooks for Primary and Elementary students were handed out. It's possible they may not have come home yesterday with your student but may still be in their homeroom mailbox.

Middle School's yearbook was ordered through the Campus school store and will be handed out next Wednesday.

High School yearbooks are also purchased through the Campus school store and are delivered in the fall.

The 5th-12th Choirs are having their Spring Vocal Concert on Monday, May 11th at 7 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. The high school choir seniors will be recognized as well. Admission: $5 adults.

Nurse Tina is more than just bandaids and checking temperature. She plays a critical role in supporting the health, wellness and academic success of students. Nurse Tina keeps them healthy, safe and ready to learn -- essential in every school. She's also a great advocate for them.

So thank you, Nurse Tina, for all the little and big things you do daily for our students, as well as our staff.
