☀️ Heat Stress Prevention at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park ☀️

Summer is one of the best times to get outside and explore the park, but it’s also the time of year when heat-related illnesses become a real concern. Whether you’re hiking the trails, fishing, paddling, camping, or enjoying a picnic, remember to take precautions and watch for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

💧 Bring plenty of water and drink it often
🌳 Take breaks in shaded areas
🧢 Wear lightweight clothing and sun protection
👀 Keep an eye on your family, friends, and fellow visitors

And don’t forget about your four-legged hiking buddies! 🐾 Dogs can suffer from heat stress too. Bring extra water for your pets, avoid the hottest parts of the day, and watch for signs of overheating such as excessive panting, weakness, excessive drooling, or lethargy.

If you or someone around you begins showing signs of heat stroke, don’t wait—move them to a cool area, begin cooling measures, and call 911 immediately. Quick action can save a life.

Knowing the signs of heat stress and acting quickly can make all the difference. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and enjoy everything Cliffs of the Neuse has to offer this summer!

🔥💙 GOLDSBORO, WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💙🔥

The heat is here, and for many in our community, staying cool and hydrated is not easy. That’s where we come in!

The Salvation Army of Goldsboro is launching a "Bottled Water & Fan Drive" to help bring relief, comfort, and hope to our neighbors facing extreme heat.

🙌 We’re collecting:
💧 Bottled Water (any size)
🌀 NEW Box Fans & Stand Fans

📍 Drop Off Location:
The Salvation Army

This is our chance to rally together and show what community looks like! Whether you donate one case of water or one fan, you are helping someone breathe a little easier and feel a little more cared for.

Hey everyone, keep in mind that Cliffs of the Neuse State Park will be doing maintenance work on our main water line on Monday, May 11. There will be no running water for a portion of the day.
