TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closure on Park Road July 13-31, 2026

A traffic advisory is being issued for a lane closure on a section of Park Road beginning Monday, July 13, 2026. The lane closure is necessary to facilitate a SCUD gas main replacement project.

The northbound travel lane on Park Road, between Ridge Road and Crofford Street, will be closed daily from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Weather and other conditions permitting, the project will be completed at the end of the day on July 31, 2026.

Traffic will be maintained, however motorists should expect delays, especially during high traffic periods, and consider alternate routes. Drivers are reminded to remain alert for changing traffic patterns, slowed and stopped traffic, and workers and equipment in the area.

Sevierville water system customers:

You may notice discoloration in your water today. The discoloration is usually caused by rust, manganese, sediment, or naturally occurring minerals being stirred up in the water lines due to hydrant flushing, maintenance work, or changes in water flow. While it may not look appealing, water testing indicates there is not a health concern.

Our crews are currently flushing known affected areas throughout the system, and if needed, we will send service workers to perform additional flushing in your area. If your water does not clear up in the next 24 hours, please let us know and we will investigate further. If you have any questions or would like additional service, please contact the Sevierville Water and Sewer Department at 865-453-5522.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY-WATER MAIN BREAK-1014 Middle Creek Road

A water main break has been reported in the area of 1014 Middle Creek Road. Temporary water outages may occur from Millwood Drive to Saint Ives Drive.

Periodic lane closures in the northbound lane may be necessary as crews work to make repairs. Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes.

No estimated time for completion of repairs is available.

What a great day at our Roadeo on Thursday!

Our employees put their skills, precision, and professionalism, to the test in a series of equipment challenges that showcased the talent and dedication they bring to work every day. Competitors participated in 4 events featuring a backhoe, knuckle-boom truck, side-loading garbage truck, and skid steer.

Events like the Roadeo not only promote safety and operational excellence, but also provide opportunities for teamwork, friendly competition, professional development, and the chance to build camaraderie among coworkers. The winners will represent the City of Sevierville at the statewide Roadeo competition in Knoxville later this year.

A BIG thank you to all participants, organizers, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this year’s event a success! We are proud of the hard work, skill, and commitment demonstrated by everyone involved!

City of Sevierville Memorial Day Facility and Service Schedules

Facility and service schedule changes for the City of Sevierville in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 26, 2025 are as follows.

•The Sevierville Golf Club and Mulligan’s Restaurant will be open normal operating hours.
•The outdoor Family Aquatic Center at City Park will be open normal operating hours.
•Commercial dumpster collection will occur as normally scheduled.
•The Community Center will be closed.
•City Hall will be closed.
•The Civic Center will be closed.
•The Police Department records division and administrative offices will be closed.
•Water and Sewer Department offices will be closed. For emergency assistance please call 865-453-5522.
•The Sevierville Convention Center administrative offices will be closed.
•Public Works administrative offices will be closed.

To finish out , we take into consideration how Public Works will impact future generations.

Last Wednesday, we had the opportunity to attend CareerQuest Sevier County. This annual event connects students with area business and government entities to explore local career paths. During this event, we had the pleasure of explaining the different careers that makes up our Public Works Department and city as a whole. Programs like these helps our department to inspire students to pursue education and training in skilled trades or public service careers.

In the long term, these learning experiences can help prepare our future generations contribute positively to our city’s growth and development. A big Thank You to everyone who participated!

Continuing our Public Works Week Celebration, today is ! One of our throwback projects would be the paving of our wonderful greenway that travels through our City Park.

This started circa 2014 & has been a serviceable addition ever since. The walking trail at Sevierville City Park 0.5 miles long and connects directly to the Memorial River Trail Greenway, which delivers another 2 miles of paved trail along the Little Pigeon River.

While the greenways are maintained and managed by Sevierville Parks & Recreation Department, our Public Works crews are proud to play a key role in the construction process through jobsite management, coordination, oversight, and paving of the trail systems that help connect the community to these scenic outdoor spaces.

As we continue celebrating Public Works Week this Wednesday, we’re highlighting another important part of the work that often happens behind the scenes: safety. Public Works is made up of many different roles and responsibilities, but one priority remains the same across every department, making sure employees have the tools and protection needed to work safely each day.

Whether working outside in the field or inside the office, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) plays an important role in keeping employees safe every day.

For outdoor crews, PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, reflective vests, hearing protection, and proper footwear help protect against hazards that come with construction zones, traffic, equipment, weather conditions, and other job-site risks.

In the office environment, PPE can be just as important. Items like ergonomic equipment, proper lifting techniques, eye protection, and maintaining a safe, clean workspace help reduce injuries and support overall employee health and wellness.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and using the proper PPE is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent injuries and help ensure every employee makes it home safely at the end of the day.
