Our mission:
We are volunteers who work together to create a healthy and positive environment for families in our community by linking them to available resources. Often times families can utilize resources that are available to them in their local communities. Many families just simply do not know what resources are available from government programs, non-profit organizations, or counseling serv
ices. Our goal is to help these families by putting them in touch with a variety of organizations, all with the goal of keeping kids safe and helping families grow stronger. Community Advisory Board:
We also function as a communicative board that shares information and collaborates with the Department of Children Services (DCS) pertaining to community issues and needs. This Community Advisory Board (CAB) meets at:
The King Family Library
408 High Street
Sevierville, TN
12:00pm on the 3rd Friday of each month
The purpose of this meeting is to:
*develop and assess both formal and informal resources available to families
*determine those resources that are missing in our area of care
*aid DCS in linking families to resources as needed
*uphold the confidentiality of those families and caregivers
*aid in community development programs that benefit families
How it works in 5 easy steps...
1. We receive a case referral from DCS (or another agency) detailing a family's needs.
2. We immediately take action to prevent the family unit from being split apart. Sometimes a family may only need an extra bed in their house for a child, or kid's clothing, formula, diapers, food, transportation, a job, or other necessities that we tend to take for granted.
3. We search our warehouse for the necessary items.
4. If we do not have the requested items we reach out to our contacts at other agencies to see if they can help. We then connect these families with other agencies or ministries in our county that provide additional care required by the families case worker.
