🌧️ Stormwater Awareness Wednesday: Protecting Our Water Quality 🌊
Good morning! Every time it rains, stormwater picks up pollutants from our streets, yards, and driveways and carries them directly into our rivers, lakes, and streams — often without any treatment. This runoff can harm aquatic life, cloud water with sediment, fuel harmful algae blooms, spread bacteria, and even affect our drinking water sources. We

Stormwater Awareness Thursday: Protecting Our Water Quality
Every time it rains, stormwater runoff flows across our streets, yards, and parking lots, picking up pollutants like oil, chemicals, pet waste, trash, and sediment. Unlike sanitary sewers, stormwater often drains directly into our rivers, lakes, and streams—without treatment. This pollution harms aquatic life, degrades drinking water sources, contributes to harmful algal blooms, and makes our waterways unsafe for swimming and fishing.
Small actions make a big difference:
• Pick up pet waste
• Use fertilizers and chemicals sparingly
• Keep streets and storm drains clear of debris
• Maintain your yard to reduce erosion
Together, we can keep our waterways clean! 💧

🌧️ Stormwater Awareness Wednesday 🌊
Did you know that everyday activities can significantly impact our local water quality? When it rains, stormwater runoff picks up pollutants like oil, sediment, fertilizers, and trash from streets, yards, and construction sites. This polluted water flows directly into our rivers, lakes, and coastal waters — harming aquatic life, recreation, and drinking water sources.
Protect our waterways together! Simple actions like picking up pet waste, using rain barrels, planting native vegetation, and avoiding hosing down driveways make a big difference.
Only Rain Down the Drain! 💧

🌧️ Stormwater Awareness Wednesday: Protecting Our Water Quality Together! 🌊
Did you know that everyday activities can have a big impact on our local waterways? Stormwater runoff picks up pollutants like sediment, chemicals, litter, and oils from streets, yards, and parking lots — carrying them straight into our rivers, lakes, and streams. This affects drinking water sources, harms aquatic life, and contributes to algae blooms and flooding.
Small changes make a huge difference:
• Pick up pet waste
• Use rain barrels or native plants
• Sweep driveways instead of hosing them down
• Properly dispose of household chemicals
