Please join us in congratulating Firefighter James Neff who has successfully completed the Georgia F.L.A.M.E.S Program.

F.L.A.M.E.S (Firefighters Laboring And Mastering Essential Skills) is one of the toughest and most difficult courses in the fire service, with less than 500 people that hold the title of a FLAMES graduate. Firefighter Neff is the 423rd student to graduate and the second member of our department to achieve this milestone. We are extremely proud of his hard work and dedication to reach this moment! Pictured is FF Neff with SFD Chief of Training Josh Sinard ( #365) who is also a FLAMES Graduate and now instructor.

This course is designed to test an individual firefighter's personal limitations when working in high stress situations with limited recuperation periods. It is also designed to test the individuals’ ability to function as part of a team. Teambuilding is a focal point of the course. The successful fire company must function as a team.

Firefighter Koebrick is now certified and trained to begin work as he has progressed through a multi week training academy learning fire and rescue skills. BEFORE YOU BURN, GET YOUR PERMIT!

With fall here and cooler weather approaching, it’s important to know the rules before starting an outdoor burn.

Starting October 15th through May 15th, burn permits are required statewide for applicable outdoor burning, including for those outside the City of Sevierville. Permits are available through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry here: https://www.burnsafetn.org/

Burning Within Sevierville City Limits:
The City of Sevierville requires burn permits year-round for brush piles, large bonfires, and uncontained yard debris under Section 7-102 of the Sevierville Municipal Code. However, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, and contained backyard units do not require a permit. City permits may be obtained here: https://www.seviervilletn.org/468/Open-Burning

Members Complete Truck Company Course!

This past week members of Sevierville Fire Department Lieutenant Brent Russell, Lieutenant Ashton Franco, Engineer Patrick Campbell, and Engineer Clay Beasley completed the Truck Company Ops. program in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This intense, 40 hour five-day hands-on class is designed to expose students to all aspects of truck work.

- Aerial and Ground Ladders
- Bailouts
- Roof Rope Rescue
- Search
- Water Can Attacks/Door Control
- Hostile Search Conditions

- Walkable Roofs
- Non-walkable Roofs
- Flat Roofs Offensive 1 & 2 Saws
- Flat Roofs Defensive

This training is instrumental in the progression of our department as we grow into new phases of operational readiness to include dedicated Truck Companies.

First off, CONGRATULATIONS to Sevierville Fire Department and Pigeon Forge Police Department for advancing to the Championship Game!

We are so grateful to all the agencies that participated in this first year of the First Responder League!!

Due to scheduling conflicts, the final two games of the season have moved to Wednesday, October 21st at Wear Farm Park.

The matchup for the final games on October 21st:
🥎 6 PM | Field 5: GPD vs. PFFD (Third Place Game)
🥎 7:30 PM | Field 5: SFD vs PFPD (Championship Game)

Games are free and open to the public, so come out to Wear Farm Park, cheer on our local first responders and enjoy a little friendly, community competition! 👏
