Our thoughts and prayers are with Dolly’s family, loved ones, and our community as we mourn the loss of a truly beautiful lady. More than an icon, she was a light, a friend, and a cherished part of Sevierville and the Smokies. Her kindness, generosity, and love for home will live on in all those she touched.

Today, we join millions around the world and especially those of us in East Tennessee in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton.

A proud daughter of Sevier County, Tennessee, Dolly never forgot her roots. The Salvation Army was honored to welcome her as the featured performer at the National Red Kettle Kickoff during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game in 2023, and we remain grateful for her extraordinary generosity, including a $1 million gift to support our mission.

Her life reflected the spirit of Proverbs 11:25:"A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." Through her kindness, compassion, and servant's heart, Dolly touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations.

Our prayers are with her family, friends, and all who loved her.
