Meet Tyler Pulec. Tyler has completed his 1-year probationary period. In that one year he completed the new member training program, and he ran 431 calls. He did all of this while being a loving husband and great father at home. Tyler will continue to be a great asset to our organization, and we thank you for all that you do!

Seward Volunteer Fire Department. With the desire to serve and courage to act we preserve property, save lives, and build a safer community for the citizens we serve. Whether it’s extinguishing fires, responding to medical emergencies, or educating the public on fire safety, our members dedicate their time and energy to keeping our community safe.

The Seward Fire Department Annual September 11th Flag raise is a dedication to all those who responded on that day and could not be done without the support of our dedicated members showing respect for what that day cost the country. They take the time out of their morning so we as a fire department and community can represent, reflect, and remember.

This tradition to represent all the lives lost on September 11th can be seen all around the country from their local fire departments and law enforcement agencies. Our world highlights the negatives that go on day to day but good things and good people are working behind the scenes.

Strive to live everyday united like our nation did in the days following this tragedy.

September 11, 2001 – We Remember

Today, we honor the 2,977 lives lost, including the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and countless first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

We remember their courage, selflessness, and devotion to duty. We also stand with the families, survivors, and all who continue to bear the weight of that day.

Let us never forget the bravery shown and the unity our nation found in the face of tragedy.

As crews continue working to restore power across the City of Seward, please take a moment to review the illustration below to understand the difference between City and property owner responsibility.

If the electrical service attached to your house is damaged, you are responsible for having those repairs completed. Please contact a licensed electrician to fix it before we can finish restoring power to your location.

🚫 Safety First: If you see a downed power line, do NOT touch it or attempt to move it. Stay far away and report it immediately.

As we continue to work restoring power to everyone, please review the illustration below to identify City and personal responsibility. If the electical service that is attached to your house is damaged, you are responsible for repairs. Please contact a licensed electrician to fix it before we can finish restoring power to your location.

DEBRIS UPDATE

DEBRIS UPDATE

**Update 3:15pm**
The 4-plex debris area will be closing down at 5pm today and will resume service tomorrow at 10am. This will allow City crews to push up the area and ensure efficiency with the space. Please heed the markers and signage on site.

***DEBRIS UPDATE***
As indicated previously, the burn site south of the City will close at 1 PM. It is our recommendation that citizens place debris at the curb if possible for future pick up. We have set up an additional debris site at the Plum Creek 4-Plex parking lot--this should allow for ease of unloading and going off site. Please drive to the right when you enter the site for efficiency and ease of use.

Please place items in the shaded portion of the photo to ensure continued ease of accessing the site--there are markers to guide. Thank you.
