Blue River Cattle Trail 1868-1872 Cattle Trail from Abilene, KS to Schuyler, NE It was the first cattle trail to bring Texas Longhorn Cattle into central Nebraska.

The Blue River Cattle Trail ran from Abilene, Kansas to Schuyler, Nebraska along the Big Blue River between 1868-1871. It was an integral part of the post-Civil War reunification efforts to invigorate mutual commerce between the North and South.
