Did you know November is National Caregivers Month? Did you know that 21% of Nebraska adults—roughly 312,000 people—serve as family caregivers, providing largely unpaid and unsupported care to older parents, spouses, and other loved ones? Seward County Public Transit, Veterans of Seward County, Seward County Aging Services, and the Extension office want to stuff a transit bus for Blue Valley Community Action at our offices - 320 S 14th St.

An attorney will be available on Thursday, November 20th, from 9:30–3:30 at Seward County Aging Services to guide you through these important documents. Call to schedule your appointment — spots are limited. Open to adults 60 and older.

Legal Clinic For Older Adults

Take care of your future and ease your mind. If you haven’t yet completed your Powers of Attorney for medical or financial decisions, or your Advance Directives sharing your wishes, this is the perfect opportunity.

An attorney will be here to help you complete these important documents and can also assist with Simple Wills if you need one.

Caring for others is a beautiful calling. It can also be exhausting. Seward County Aging Services invites all family caregivers to take a a day for yourself at the Family Caregiver Retreat on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Harvest Hall, Seward Fairgrounds.

The day will feature uplifting speakers including humorist T. Marni Voss, Dr. Julie Masters from UNO, author Michael James, Deaconess Jeri Morrison of St. John Lutheran, Kelly Haney, and others.

Together, we’ll explore ways to renew your spirit, ease stress, and find encouragement in community.

Lunch will be provided, and the retreat is free for family caregivers.
