City Crews will be working on the watermain on Elm street between 11th Street and 8th Street. Please be aware there might be slight interruptions to water service in the area. Work is projected to be completed by end of day. Thank you for your patience.

Update 2:53pm: All power from the outage has been restored. If you continue to have issues or still do not have power, please call City Hall.

1:15pm - We are currently experiencing a power outage on the east side of Seward. Crews are actively working to resolve the problem. We will update this post once we believe all power has been restored.

The City of Seward has been made aware of fraudulent invoices being sent with use of the City’s logo. We ask residents and vendors to always remain vigilant of what you receive. If you receive an invoice or bill from the City that appears suspicious or unexpected, please call City Hall to verify its source. The City will never ask you to wire money via online link. Additionally, we would recommend that a recipient always examines the email source before acting or opening attachments.

Black Hills Energy is performing scheduled gas line work Thursday, August 13th from 9:00am-12:00pm. Residents may notice a slight gas odor near Waverly Road (North of the ball fields) and East Bluff Road (1 mile East of Concordia University) as the gas company safely purge air from a new line. There is no danger to the public, this is a routine, controlled process. If you smell gas outside of the work areas, or suspect a real leak, please report it to Black Hills Energy immediately.

City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, August 11, from 9:00am to 11:00am, and on Wednesday, August 12, the office will close at 3:00pm. We encourage residents to plan their visits accordingly.

Bring your dog down to the Seward Dowding Municipal Pool and let them enjoy a cool splash and swim session. Blue River Pet Rescue is sponsoring the event on August 16th from 6:00pm- 8:00pm. Free will donation to support Blue River Pet Rescue and their efforts.

🚨 Update: The house will arrive in 2 sections. The first section will arrive in Seward around 8:30am. Once placed, the truck will go back for the second portion of the house.

Hillcrest Homes with Bennett Truck Transport will begin moving a house into Seward on Tuesday, August 11 in the morning. The house will enter Seward from the west on Highway 34 and then go south down Columbia Avenue. There are no anticipated street closures. If you live on South Columbia, please do not park on the street the morning of the move. Please use caution in the area and be on the lookout for workers. Traffic may be delayed in certain areas so please plan accordingly and use alternate routes.
