Southern Webster County Fire Protection District is accepting sealed bids for repainting of the exterior of our fire station located in Fordland. Any company interested in bidding on our project will be required to be insured. If interested, please reach out to our Board President, Kevin Lucas via text or phone call to 417-840-7021 and he can arrange an appointment to discuss the details of this project. All sealed bids are due no later than June 5, 2026.

Today, Your Southern Webster County Fire Protection District teamed up with Logan-Rogersville Fire Protection District to spend the day with the 5th graders at Fordland Elementary School for Career Day!

Students got a hands-on look at the fire service by learning about some of the many duties firefighters perform every day. From using extrication tools to play Jenga, to cutting rebar, the kids were able to safely experience some of the equipment and skills used in emergency situations.

We also talked about teamwork, safety, serving the community, and what it takes to become a firefighter. Thank you to the staff and students for having us — we had a great time sharing what we do and inspiring the next generation! 🚒🔥 Thank you Logan Rogersville Fire Protection District for your teamwork 🙂

As of 4/27/2026 at 12:56. US National Weather Service Springfield Missouri has issued a tornado watch until 9pm. Attached below are storm shelters located throughout Webster County.

Webster County is now in a Tornado Watch until 2am. Large hail up to tennis balls, wind gusts up 70mph, and a few tornadoes possible. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive watches and warnings tonight.

A severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect for Webster County until 9:00 pm. Possible hazards include hail up to tennis ball, winds up to 70 mph and a couple tornadoes possible.

A Tornado Watch is now in effect for Webster County until 12:00 am. Storms could produce up to 70 mph winds, hail up to the size of ping pong, and a couple tornadoes are possible. Make sure to have multiple ways to receives any warnings that may get issued.

Your Southern Webster County Fire Protection District VOLUNTEERS have had a BUSY first quarter of 2026.

From January through March, SWCFPD responded to 206 incidents across our district.

16 Building Fires
9 were confirmed WORKING FIRES
19 Motor Vehicle Collisions
3 required extrication (“CUT JOB”) to access one or more patients

Our volunteers continue to answer the call day and night, serving our community when it matters most.

We’re always looking for dedicated individuals to join our team.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible from this afternoon through the evening with all modes of severe storms possible. The best chances of storms will be west of a West Plains to Salem line.
