It has been a very active week for Public Transit! We were able to attend the Airports Ribbon cutting ceremony, we were also featured in the 1st Annual Touch-A-Truck event held at the Jackson County Fair grounds in support of The Maverick Minute Foundation AND we were able to take a very important person to us, Floyd Amburgey to the Fair. Thanks to everyone who has made transit part of their life and helping us to continue to make this thing roll..

Wednesday is kiddie day at the Jackson County Fair - Brownstown, in from 1pm-5pm. But make sure to head out early! From 12pm-2pm is the coolest Touch-A-Truck you will EVER see! Kiddos will be able to see the biggest variety of trucks and equipment and get a lesson on how blind spots work. A group from the 2026 Leadership Jackson County and YoJack class has partnered with the Maverick Minute Foundation to create this fun, educational, and interactive event.

The Maverick Minute Foundation was created after a heartbreaking farm accident took the lives of 4-year-old Maverick Flinn and his great-grandmother, Nancy Fox. Their family is now turning that tragedy into a national movement with a simple but powerful reminder for farm families everywhere:
Pause. Inspect. Protect.

Be sure to share this post and tag anyone with kiddos that want to see some really cool trucks and equipment!

Due to being short staffed, Same Day calls for scheduling rides will be very limited on Monday 7/13/2026. Public Transit will take calls accordingly but Firmly suggest the 24 hour call ahead policy be implemented. If at all possible please call (812)522-7433 on Friday 7/10/2026 for any rides for Monday. Thank You to everyone and sorry for any inconvenience.

As a Transit Dispatcher, you'll be the communication hub between our riders and drivers—coordinating daily transportation, assisting passengers, preparing schedules, maintaining records, and providing outstanding customer service.

Qualifications:
✅ High school diploma required
✅ Experience working with the public
✅ Knowledge of Seymour city streets is helpful
✅ Must be able to be bonded

Work Schedule:
🕗 Monday–Friday (hours vary)
