𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗔 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗙𝗨𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗗𝗔𝗬!

We had a 𝗙𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖 turnout this morning for our Community Workday with Live-It Ministries at Seymour Park! In just 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦, our volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got an incredible amount accomplished.
We pulled everything out of the concession stand and soccer field storage areas, sorted through years of items, cleaned what could be saved and donated what could still be put to good use.
One of the coolest discoveries of the day was finding the 𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦 from the late ’80s/early ’90s recognizing many of the people who helped make Seymour Park possible! It was pretty special uncovering a piece of Seymour history while working toward the park’s future.
And that wasn’t all! 💪
🔨 Removed two interior walls to open up the concession stand
🎨 Repainted the inside of the concession stand
💧 Removed the old, outdated water heater
📹 Updated the security cameras
🧹 Cleaned and organized storage areas
📦 Sorted items to keep, clean and donate
⚽ Cleaned out soccer field equipment and supplies
𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥! ❤️
A huge 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 to everyone who gave up part of their Saturday to help. Seymour Park has been a part of this community for decades, and we’re excited to work alongside Live-It Ministries as the next chapter begins.
We got a lot done today — and we’re already looking forward to the 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗗𝗔𝗬!

❤️ 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗙𝗔𝗥 𝗪𝗘’𝗩𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 ❤️
Looking back through photos from 2015–2018 reminded us just how much the Seymour Area Chamber of Commerce has grown over the years.
There was a time when Breakfast Buzz was held in the lobby of Tennessee State Bank or in the former small CROSS Food Ministry building. Looking through those old photos, we would have around 12–17 people gathered together for a meeting.
Fast forward to our August Breakfast Buzz last week, and 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟱𝟱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀. That’s something worth celebrating—not because of a number, but because of what that number represents: 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.
And none of it happened overnight.
To every person who has served on the Chamber Board—from the very beginning, to 10 years ago, to those serving today—𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨. Each of you helped lay another piece of the foundation that made today’s Chamber possible.
To the businesses and members who have supported the Chamber for 15 years or more, thank you for sticking with us, believing in the mission and continuing to invest in Seymour.
And to our newest members, 𝗪𝗘’𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗢 𝗚𝗟𝗔𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨’𝗥𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘! We know owning or running a business isn’t always easy, and we hope the Chamber can be a place where you make connections, build relationships and find people who genuinely want to see you succeed.
These pictures tell a pretty special story. From 12–17 people gathered in a small room to more than 55 at Breakfast Buzz last week, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵—it’s Seymour growing together. ❤️

Join the Seymour Area Chamber of Commerce and LIVE-IT Ministries for our annual Volunteer Workday on Saturday, August 29th, from 8:30 AM until Noon! 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗔𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗬𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞

Whether you're a seasoned DIYer or simply willing to help, there's a job for everyone—regardless of skill level. Tools will be provided, so just bring yourself and a servant's heart.
One of our main goals this year is to clean out the concession stand and bathrooms to the pavilion, if we have time possibly paint and possibly some demolition.
Every helping hand will make a lasting impact!
🎓 Students: Need volunteer service hours? This is a great opportunity to earn credit while giving back to your community.
This has become one of our favorite annual events because it brings neighbors, businesses, families, and students together to make a real difference.

Today, East Tennessee and the world lost a true treasure. Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80.
For those of us in Sevier County and the surrounding communities, Dolly was so much more than a music legend. She never forgot where she came from, and her generosity, businesses, Imagination Library, and love for the Smoky Mountains have touched countless lives and helped shape our community for generations.
The 𝗦𝗲𝘆𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲 extends our deepest condolences and prayers to Dolly’s family, friends, employees, and everyone whose life she touched.

⏰ Volunteers need to arrive at 5:00 PM and plan to stay throughout the game.
𝗪𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗔𝗧 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝟲–𝟳 𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗥𝗦, in addition to our Chamber Board members who will also be there helping out.
