The City of Seymour is accepting sealed bids on the following surplus equipment:

* 2009 Hustler Zero-Turn Mower with Bagger — 66” cut, 1,078 hours

* 2006 Case 580M Series 2 Backhoe — approximately 3,400 hours; starts but has mechanical issues

* 2006 Bobcat S185 Skid Steer — 820 hours; includes bucket and fork attachments

* Four (4) Used Park Benches

Bids must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Each bid must be sealed and include the specific item/equipment being bid on, bid amount, bidder’s name, and contact information.

Bids may be delivered to Seymour City Hall, 123 W. Market Street, Seymour, MO 65746, or mailed to City of Seymour, P.O. Box 247, Seymour, MO 65746.

Equipment may be inspected at the City’s maintenance shed on South Street. The park benches may also be inspected at the maintenance shed.

Late submissions will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened during the Seymour Board of Aldermen meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The City of Seymour reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.

The monthly test of the outdoor warning sirens will take place today at 10:00 a.m. The outdoor warning sirens are tested the first Wednesday of each month, weather permitting.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE

A section of Thoroughfare between Lorraine Street and Hodge Street will be temporarily closed while City crews work to repair a water leak.

Please use caution when traveling near the area and watch for City employees and utility equipment.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete these necessary repairs.

It’s almost time for the 54th Annual Seymour Apple Festival and the apple lights are going up on the square today!

All parking spots on the west and south side of the square will be closed next Thursday, September 3rd from 7:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. and the parking spots on the north and east sides of the square will be closed from 9:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. The closure is due to the city crew striping the streets. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
