Yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming Officer Clark back to Shadyside as he helped es**rt our community parade.

For the past 30 years, Officer Clark has faithfully served the Village of Shadyside with dedication, professionalism, and pride. His commitment to this community has left a lasting impact, and it was an honor to see him back.

On July 7, 2026, officers with the Shadyside Police Department conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with equipment violations within the Village of Shadyside.

During the investigation, officers identified the driver as Kortney Reece of Bellaire, Ohio.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected drug abuse instruments and suspected crushed pills.

Reece was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Belmont County Jail, where she was booked for possessing drug abuse instruments and possession of drugs.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On July 7, 2026, officers with the Shadyside Police Department conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling at a speed above the posted limit within the Village of Shadyside.

During the investigation, officers identified the driver as Jesse A. Wilson of Glen Dale, West Virginia. It was determined that Wilson had two outstanding warrants issued through Belmont County. Officers also learned that his driver’s license was suspended and expired.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected drug paraphernalia and suspected Schedule II controlled substance.

Wilson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Belmont County Jail, where he was lodged on the outstanding warrants and additional charges.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On July 1, 2026, following a week-long undercover investigation, officers with the Shadyside Police Department arrested Jeffery Scott Mills, 61, of Houston, Pennsylvania.

During the investigation, Mr. Mills allegedly communicated online with a Shadyside officer posing as a 14-year-old juvenile. Despite being made aware of the juvenile’s age, Mr. Mills continued the communication and later arranged to meet the juvenile in Shadyside.

When Mr. Mills arrived at the predetermined meeting location, he was taken into custody without incident by members of the Shadyside Police Department. Following his arrest Mr Mills was transported to Belmont County Jail where he is being held .

Charges:
• Importuning (Ohio Revised Code 2907.07(D)(1)) – Felony of the Fifth Degree

In the early morning hours of April 10th, 2026, officers from the Shadyside Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle. The vehicle failed to comply, resulting in a pursuit. During the pursuit, the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office assisted Shadyside Police units.

The pursuit continued onto Trough Run Road, then proceeded through Pinch Run Road, past the Sand Hill area, onto Key Bellaire Road, and continued onto Ray Ramsey Ridge. The pursuit ultimately concluded on Mount Victory Road without incident.

The individual, identified as Kollin Melko, was taken into custody and transported to the Belmont County Jail, where he was booked on the following charges: Failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, Driving under suspension or in violation of license restriction, Criminal damaging or endangering, and Operation in willful or wanton disregard of the safety of persons or property.
