There will be a one-day delay in trash/recycling collection this week due to the Labor Day holiday. This means Monday's route will be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday's on Wednesday, and so on.

Phase 1 of the Lee Road Complete Street construction project starts soon with sewer and water utility work on Lee Rd. south of Van Aken Blvd. This phase is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2026.

Two-way traffic will be maintained but there will be lane closures as follows:

▶️ September-November: One lane of traffic in each direction on Lee Rd. between Van Aken Blvd. eastbound and Lomond Blvd.
▶️ November-December: One lane of traffic in each direction on Lee Rd. between Lomond Blvd. and Invermere Ave. in Cleveland.
▶️ The Lee Rd. entrance to Shaker Main Library will be closed; please enter off Chagrin Blvd.
▶️ The left turning lane into the Heinen's parking lot on Lee Rd. southbound will remain open.

On Monday, September 7, Chagrin Blvd. will be closed at Milverton Rd. from 7 am to 1 pm. This is to help accommodate Cleveland's annual Labor Day parade. Motorists should seek alternate routes.

The City of Shaker Heights Culture & Engagement Committee hosted a community pancake breakfast Saturday, August 29 at Fire Station #1. Members of Council and City leaders including CAO Matt Carroll and Police Chief Wayne Hudson served breakfast to approximately 150 residents.
Mayor David Weiss was also on hand, striking up conversation with those in attendance.
A huge thank you to all the residents and City leaders who helped make this a successful event!
