Today, the SHPD proudly welcomed three new officer candidates as they were sworn in to begin their journey with our agency.

Over the next 22 weeks, these candidates will undergo rigorous training through the Tri-C Police Academy, preparing them with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism required to serve our community with integrity and dedication.

We are proud to welcome these future officers and look forward to supporting them throughout their training. Upon completion, we look forward to seeing them take their place as dedicated guardians and public servants committed to the safety and well-being of our community.

Please join us in congratulating our three newest officer candidates and wishing them success as they begin this important chapter of their careers.

Welcome to the SHPD family!

As law-enforcement professionals, we can only perform our duties as effectively as possible when we have strong, trusted partners within our community. East View United Church of Christ has been an outstanding example of such a partner.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support of our city and our department, as well as your commitment to strengthening the community we all serve. Partnerships like this are essential to building trust, fostering collaboration, and creating a safer community for everyone.

We look forward to continuing our partnership for many years to come as we work together to make our community an even safer and stronger place to live, work, and worship.
