"On Wednesday, PFLAG Niceville announced the launch of a GoFundMe campaign called the "Love Wins Campaign," which it says is a direct response to the negativity seen at Tuesday's meeting.

"It's time to rally together because, guess what? The haters out there (are) loud and proud," said PFLAG Niceville in the GoFundMe description. "At the recent Niceville City Council meeting, they made their voices heard, aiming to put a stop to our Pride event this year."

Good news from Equality Florida:

After nearly 2 years of fighting the "Don’t Say LGBTQ" law in the courts, we’ve reached an historic settlement agreement with the state that:

1) Restores the ability of students and teachers to speak freely about LGBTQ people, families, and issues in the classroom;

2) States that the law does not prohibit books, musicals, or plays featuring LGBTQ characters;

3) Reiterates that the law does not prohibit anti-bullying guidance or resources aimed at improving the mental and physical health of LGBTQ students;

4) Clarifies that the law does not require the removal of safe space stickers or the elimination of safe spaces;

5) Protects GSA’s (Gay-Straight Alliances / Genders-Sexualities Alliances) as an extracurricular activity.

Please pass this on to ensure that your school administrators do not remove these rights out of fear.

Another big win. Once again, a federal judge has ruled that a piece of DeSantis’s war on freedom, this time the anti-drag law, is likely unconstitutional and has ordered the law enjoined. This law, like the rest of the DeSantis agenda, weaponizes government against civil liberties, threatening fines and criminal penalties that are designed to suppress drag performers and punish the organizations, businesses, and municipalities that support them.

Free states don’t wage war on drag art or target those who host it. We are grateful to Hamburger Mary’s and the legal team that is challenging this invasion of constitutional rights.
