The SMS Student Council volunteered at the South Plains Food Bank, where they helped pack food, and had an amazing experience. Afterward, they had fun at GolfSuites. Thank you for your hard work, SMS StuCo.

Today, our 7th and 8th grade SMS tennis teams went and played in a tennis tournament and came home with a lot of hardware! We are proud of all their hard work and dedication! Can't wait to see all the success in high school tennis in the years to come!

Can't let the week end without taking some time to thank and recognize these amazing ladies for their hard work at SMS!

First is Nurse Carrie - she always has a smile on her face and ensures students are safe and well taken care of. Thank you, Nurse Carrie, for taking care of all of us. You are the best.

Second, our school lunch heroes deserve recognition too! These amazing ladies work tirelessly in the cafeteria, morning and lunch, to ensure all our students are fed a hot meal. Their food is amazing, and we definitely have the best.

SMS staff finished this week's Teacher Appreciation with a wonderful lunch from the SMS PTO. Thank you to our wonderful PTO for the amazing lunch and fun game with prizes.

SMS has been spoiled today, starting off the morning with breakfast pizza from the SMS Student Council and then a nice afternoon refresher from the SMS PTO with Soda Shack and a sugar cookie! Our teachers and staff work hard daily to ensure our students have the best experience at school. Thank you all!

SMS staff were treated to ice cream this afternoon, courtesy of the Social Committee, as part of Teacher Appreciation. We have hardworking teachers who deserve to be celebrated all week! If you see the staff this week, give them an extra hug!

The SMS bands performed well at the Greater Southwest Festival this past Friday and were rewarded with a ton of fun at Cinergy Entertainment! The SMS Varsity Band received an Outstanding trophy, and the SMS JV Band received a 1 and also brought home a trophy.
