During fire prevntion week, the company traveled to Vision Academy Charter School of Excellence, Today's Child Learning Centers, Kids Connection Learning Center, and The Sharon Hill School to teach fire safety. The kids got to see the engine, a firefighter fully geared up, and some even got to spray the hose. A total of 754 children were educated this week.

19 Years Ago - F/F Michael D Reagan Jr paid the ultimate sacrifice at age 19. F/F Reagan tragically succumbed to injuries he received after a structural collapse critically injured him 3 days prior. Although he is no longer physically with us, he continues to live on in each and every single one of us watching over and protecting the men & women that make up the Sharon Hill Fire Company. He was just living the dream!

19 Years Ago at 11:02pm - Alarm #286 was dispatched for a residential fire. Engine 09-2 arrived moments later and quickly went to work fighting the fire. Shortly after arriving a complete structural collapse occurred (11:06pm) trapping 3 firefighters under the debris. F/F Tesauro, F/F Miller, F/F Reagan all became trapped under the debris while F/F Payne was struck by flying debris. This would be the start of events that ultimately would tragically claim the life of F/F Michael D. Reagan Jr a few short days later.

7/18/26 *Working Fire*

Engine 9 arrived FDE to a house fire in the 900 block of Poplar Avenue in the Briarcliffe section of Darby Township. Arriving crews had smoke showing from the second floor and deployed a 200’ hand line. Crews located the fire on the second floor rear bedroom. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes.

*Delayed* 7/15/26 Scrap Yard fire

At 10am, the building fire was dispatched in Sharon Hill for the industrial park. Chief 9 arrived to find nothing showing from the park but had a column showing from Darby Township. The Sharon Hill assignment was requested to be sent to the investigation in Darby Township. Chief 9 arrived to find a large scrap metal pile on fire. ENG9 assumed FDE, hooked to the hydrant at the end of the main driveway and deployed a 2.5" portable monitor and the deluge gun. SD76 dropped a second supply line from the main entrance and supplied TW5, QT33 arrived and was placed with ENG9 for master streams. Crews were in service for approximately 5 hours.

We would like to congratulate Bowen Diamond on his graduation from HACC Fire academy today. Bowen joined Sharon Hill in 2021 and currently serves as Lieutenant and Trustee. We wish you well as you start your career with the Upper Darby Fire Department.

Engine 9 arrived FDE to this house fire in the unit block of N. Wells Ave in Glenolden. Crews found fire in a pipe chase on the first floor with extension to the other floors. 2 hand lines were placed in service, crews were on scene for just over 2 hours.
