Happy Pride Month Sharon! Yesterday, the community celebrated a day early with a mini parade walk from chalk fest to the lake, followed by the annual flag raising & festival with over 25 vendors this year. As an ally & friend, it has always been important to ensure that everyone in our town feels safe and welcomed. It has been amazing watching this event grow from a small socially distant gathering outside town hall to now a full day of celebration like many surrounding communities. Thank you to Sharon Pride Committee for organizing under the leadership of Toben Asklar! Also a big thank you to Troop 164 for leading the flag ceremony. #02067

The weather was perfect for Sharon's Chalk Art Festival today! It is amazing to see all the talent in our community (special shoutout to the Sharon, Massachusetts Police Department team😄). Thank you Sharon Recreation Department & Sharon Cultural Council for putting this event together along with all the sponsors who help make it happen year after year. This is a fantastic example of bringing community together!

Strong work by Detective Pasco & our Department!

Multi State Burglary Suspects Arrested:

On 05/19/26 Sharon Police Officer Demeris responded to Costco to take a report of individuals utilizing a victims stolen credit card to purchase numerous gold bars and obtained video footage and evidence.

Detective Pasco assisted in the investigation which revealed three individuals parked out of sight of the exterior cameras who then entered Costco utilizing multiple stolen credit cards from different victims to purchase a large quantity of Gold Bars.

It was determined these individuals broke into area Fitness Center lockers in Westwood and Burlington MA stealing the victims credit cards as well as other personal items. The suspects then traveled to three different Costco’s in MA and NH to purchase over $70,000 in Gold Bars.

A vehicle the suspects were traveling in, which was rented in New York using a fraudulent passport, was identified on area cameras. All the suspects were identified and discovered to be under investigation by numerous states for multiple crimes and warrants for their arrest.

On 05/27/26, Detective Pasco with the assistance of NYPD and Nassau County NY detectives were able to track the wanted vehicle through NY where detectives converged on the suspects and placed two under arrest.

🌙 About Eid ul-Adha and Its Significance 🐑

Eid ul-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is one of the most important holidays celebrated by Muslims around the world. It commemorates the devotion, faith, and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) عليه السلام, who was willing to sacrifice his son in submission to God’s command. Before the sacrifice took place, God replaced his son with a ram, symbolizing mercy, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Observed during the sacred days of Dhul Hijjah, the same time millions of Muslims perform the pilgrimage of Hajj in Mecca, Eid ul-Adha is a time of prayer, reflection, gratitude, charity, and community connection.

The holiday reminds us of the importance of:

* Compassion and generosity toward others
* Caring for neighbors, family, and those in need
* Strengthening community bonds
* Faith, sacrifice, and gratitude
* Promoting peace, kindness, and unity
