Escape the heat and enjoy an evening of crafting at the library!

Join Anne Cameron in creating these little woven heart “baskets” (called julehjerter, or Christmas hearts, in Danish) to create a garland or simply to share with loved ones. These hearts are traditionally Christmas decorations, but who can resist a heart any time of the year?

Children who can cut on a line can work independently on this project. All materials are supplied, and adults are welcome to join in the fun, too!

Celebrate Children’s Book Week, May 4-10!

Children’s Book Week is a national week-long event that celebrates books for young readers. 2026 is the 107th anniversary of this beloved program, and this year’s event slogan is Books: Get Curious. This slogan celebrates all the ways that the stories we read, share, and tell encourage and quench the curiosity inherent in every child.

Come into the library any time during the week and pick up a bookmark, coloring sheets, and check out our book displays. We also have several fun events for kids planned throughout the month!
