Happy National Internship Day! My name is D'Ante Hendon. I am a proud and hard-working intern for West Central Job Partnership at the Pennsylvania CareerLink® in Sharon, PA.

I love working as an intern at the PA CareerLink Mercer County. I have been able to learn and grow on a personal and professional level. I have also built relationships that will help me in my future work endeavors.

Each day, I learn by working with clients and co-workers. I have learned what it takes to be a trusted employee in the workplace. I appreciate the guidance, time, and discipline that I have received throughout this experience. I am confident I am able to put my skills and talents to work in my future career thanks to my internship!

We had a nice visit with three interns from the City Of Farrell, Pa - Mayor's office - today! The trio are interning with the city through a PA CareerLink Mercer County program - and were helping to gather info about Farrell businesses. The students - who also briefly toured our location to learn more about us - attend PSU, IUP and Chatham!

WCJP, PA CareerLink Lawrence County, and PA CareerLink Mercer County are proud supporters of paid internship experiences for our local youth and young adults.

Over this past year, we helped over 60 local employers support 147 young adults in these valuable work experiences. Congratulations to all of the interns starting their careers and all of our businesses investing in the future workforce!

🌟 Celebrating 10 Years of Career Exploration - A Sincere Thank You 🌟

As we conclude our 10th annual Mercer County Business & Industry Career Fair, we extend our appreciation to the Schools, Businesses, Panelists and Volunteers who have contributed to the success of this event! Over the past decade, this Fair has become a key opportunity for high school students in our community to explore diverse career paths and connect with potential future employers.

We are grateful to the local schools and businesses for their ongoing support and commitment. Your participation has been crucial in providing students with insights into various industries and professions, helping them to make informed decisions about their futures. Our volunteers deserve special recognition for their dedication and hard work in ensuring the event runs smoothly each year. Your efforts have been vital in creating a productive and engaging experience for all attendees.

Thank you also to the PA Department of Labor & Industry for supporting this event and many other efforts like this statewide through the Business Education Program funding.

This 10th anniversary not only celebrates a decade of career exploration but also underscores the strength of our community's commitment to supporting the next generation. Excellent article on yesterday's 2023 Lawrence County Business & Industry Career Fair for 800 10th grade students!

WCJP is proud to collaborate with the Lawrence County School-To-Work, Inc., school districts, employers, and partner organizations to offer this valuable experience to our youth, which is supported by a PA Department of Labor & Industry Business Education Partnership grant.

Around 800 sophomore students from around Lawrence County learned about careers Thursday morning.
