More than 50% of all Mercer County school aged children are considered to be food-insecure. In Sharon City Public Schools the need is even greater! More than 1600 of the 2000 students in the 3 elementary schools and the middle/high school benefited from the school’s pantry program in November! Thanks to the Mercer County Food Bank, the Sharon School Pantry Program board of directors and many generous donors for making the food available for these kids! The amazing staff and volunteers at the schools have made this program possible! Thank you Lisa Fox for coordinating all of the schools! The love and care you put into this program is making a huge difference in our community!

According to the Mercer County Food Bank, many children in the county are depending on their schools to get more than just an education.

TONIGHT! 5pm until 7pm! Night of Lights! Live entertainment, refreshments, tree lighting, free reindeer petting area, and of course a visit from Santa! Throughout the evening there will be “sleigh” (carriage) rides and you can help support Sharon Pantry Program by paying what you “can”! A canned good or cash donation for the pantry program! We hope to see you there!!

Some big changes are happening this year! The "backpack" program is switching to a "pantry" program. All 3 elementary schools and middle/high school will be included. These kids need your help. Please consider donating or volunteering!

Another school year in the books! Tonight our volunteers did a “double pack” of 700 bags of food to provide meals for 350 Sharon City elementary school students for the next couple of weekends. We want to thank the tireless volunteers who come out and provide this important service to our community!

Thank you to all of our volunteers who packed DOUBLE the bags this past week so that all of our kiddos can take home double the food over the long weekend.
This Thanksgiving season, we are so very thankful for all of the volunteers that help with packing the food at the warehouse, distribute the bags to each school, and to everyone who donates to this wonderful program.

Urgent help needed! We help feed hundreds of Sharon elementary school children over the weekends…. We meet at Community Food Warehouse off of South Sharpsville Avenue in Downtown Sharon every Tuesday evening at 6:00. It takes less than an hour of your time to do something fun and something good for our kids!
