The Township of Kingston was officially chartered in 1790 by the Susquehanna Company during the formation of Luzerne County. Kingston Township is a progressive community that offers the finest in public services to a population of over 7,200 residents, covering 14 square miles. Kingston Township is recognized as the βGateway to the Back Mountainβ and offers a beautiful rural setting with a host of natural resources, highlighted by Frances Slocum State Park and our own Center Street Park and Playground across from the Municipal Building on E. Center Street.
