Letter from the Candidate

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday, and I wish you many blessings in 2017! personally announce to you that I am running for Magisterial District Judge for District Court 11-3-09. When members of our community find themselves in the unfortunate position of appearing in court, they deserve a knowledgeable and fair judge. I will be

that judge. My unique life experiences – as an attorney with a juris doctorate degree and having successfully litigated thousands of civil and criminal court cases – will be an asset to everyone in our community. One accomplishment that I am very proud of is being acknowledged by the Dallas Post and our community who voted me best Back Mountain attorney for eight years running. I have great respect and appreciation for my community, and it is an honor to be recognized for my service. Additional life experiences that have prepared me for this position include my business expertise and martial arts career. At King’s College, I dual majored and graduated with a B.A. in Government & Business Administration, and later, I earned my MBA at Penn State University, While pursuing my education, I competed as a nationally ranked martial artist, appeared on the cover of Karate Illustrated Magazine and shared my love of martial arts locally at Gary Michak’s Karate Schools. After college, I obtained management positions at Fortune 500 companies working nationally and internationally managing diverse populations. After a few years abroad, I returned home to settle my family and begin my law practice.. As an attorney, business owner and resident of the Back Mountain, I consider myself very fortunate to live and work in a community that has been very good to me and my family. I wanted to serve the community as Magisterial District Judge for a few years, but having the utmost respect for Justice Tupper, I would have never run against him. However, now that he is retiring, I would be honored to succeed him. I believe I have all the qualities to be a fair and steadfast district justice while making the Back Mountain a safer, stronger community. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you about my candidacy. I can be reach directly at 570-760-5610 or at [email protected]. Thank you for your time, and I would appreciate your support for my candidacy for Magisterial District Judge. Sincerely,

Gary A. Michak

Our Story

Dear Friends and Neighbors, Many of Gary’s friends, family members, and supporters who worked to support his political campaign for district justice in 2017 have banded together to support charity and community service initiatives in the Back Mountain and surrounding communities. The working title of our group is “Gary’s Corner”. We have created this organization to come up with ways to carry on Gary’s legacy of service to the community and his goal of a safer, stronger Back Mountain.

Many of us were overwhelmed at the level of support expressed by the community following Gary’s untimely passing in 2017. Our hope is that we can work together to continue to give back to our friends and neighbors through charitable acts and community events. We feel like this is a great way to honor our friend’s legacy and contribute to the community. We appreciate your support in advance!

Sincerely,

Gary’s Corner
