Today we recognize and bid farewell to SSgt Julianna Wilson as she departs from the SMSgt David B. Reid Airman Leadership School cadre team but not without celebrating an incredible achievement.

During her time as an instructor, SSgt Wilson earned her Master Instructor Badge (MIB), a distinction achieved by only 5% of 8T000s. This accomplishment speaks volumes about her expertise, dedication, and commitment to developing the next generation of Air Force leaders.

Her impact on countless Airmen will not be forgotten. Through her mentorship, professionalism, and passion for teaching, she has set a standard of excellence that will continue to inspire long after her departure.

While we’re sad to see her go, we couldn’t be more proud of all she’s accomplished and excited for what’s ahead. Thank you for everything you’ve given to this team and to every Airman you’ve helped shape.

Best of luck with your next chapter! 🇺🇸

🎉Today I want to take a moment to recognize some truly outstanding individuals from our Airman Leadership School team.

First, our Commandant congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! Your leadership, coordination, and unwavering commitment to developing the next generation of Airmen set the standard every day. This award is a direct reflection of the impact you’ve made on the program and the countless Airmen who continue to benefit from your guidance.

I also want to highlight three incredible instructors who will be departing us soon. Each of you have played a vital role in shaping and mentoring future NCOs. Your dedication, professionalism, and ability to connect with students have made a difference that goes far beyond the classroom.

On Feb. 11, the David B. Reid Airman Leadership School Class 26-2 unveiled a newly painted mural inside the schoolhouse, dedicating the piece to the 20th Fighter Wing Command Chief, CMSgt Christopher Griste. The mural was designed and completed by the class to celebrate leadership, heritage, and the units that make up the Shaw Air Force Base community.

The artwork features a collection of mascots representing each classroom at the schoolhouse, the Warhawk, Viper, Thunderbolt, and Reaper, symbolizing the diverse missions and identities of units that currently serve, or have previously served, at Shaw AFB. At the center of the mural is the newly created Airman Leadership School logo, designed by Class 26-2, representing the unity and legacy of the class.

Additional elements throughout the mural highlight key aspects of Shaw’s mission and Air Force heritage. An MQ-9 Reaper represents the 25th Attack Wing and the F-16 Fighting Falcon symbolizes the 20th Fighter Wing. A palmetto tree honors the school’s home in South Carolina and the proud heritage of Shaw AFB. The mural also includes Hap Arnold wings, representing the broader legacy and traditions of the U.S. Air Force, along with a graduation cap and diploma, symbolizing the importance of professional development and the role of Airman Leadership School in shaping the next generation of enlisted leaders.

Through this project, ALS Class 26-2 left a lasting mark on the schoolhouse while honoring the units, mission, and leadership that continue to shape Shaw Air Force Base.
