In the fall of 2015 brochures were distributed in housing and around the base promoting recycling cooking grease instead of pouring it down the kitchen drains. This action helps prevent sewage overflows which reduces pollution going to our environment,

Pet Waste Station purchased to be placed around housing and the base.
Pet waste management program has been promoted by placibng educational literature in the new occupant packages issued to new residents moving into the military family housing at Shaw AFB.

Subsurface stormwater retention device being installed at Shaw AFB Medical Clinic.

Shaw AFB installed another subsurface retention chamber at the new 9th Air Force building in 2012 to capture the stormwater from the roof of the building. The bottom of the device is lined with geotextile and gravel to allow absorption of water into the ground thereby reducing the water flow from the site.

New Subsurface Stormwater Retention Chamber added at new Shaw AFB Clinic- The subsurface Storm Tech subsurface chamber will receive the stormwater from the 55, 691 square foot roof of the new Medical Clinic. The bottom of the under ground chamber is lined with geotextile and gravel designed to absorb the stormwater into the ground thereby reducing the storm flow from the facility.

Shaw AFB Industrial Stormwater SWPPP was sent to all Shaw AFB personnel for annual review 6 NOV 2014. All comments and recommended changes are due by the first week in December 2014.

Our SWPPP is reviewed and updated annually.
